Who needs a visa to enter Denmark?

For other citizens you can here see the list of countries whose citizens need a visa to enter Denmark and other Schengen countries for a short period of time (less then 3 months). A visa normally grants you the right to stay in the entire Schengen region.

Denmark is participating in the Schengen-cooperation, which means that visas issued by Danish Embassies abroad normally are valid in all Schengen countries. The visa gives you the right to spend a maximum of 3 months per 6 months in the Schengen region. You can read more about how the 6 months are calculated here. If you remain in Denmark after your visa expires or if you attempt to use your visa stay to obtain permanent or long-term residency in Denmark, you can be given a penalty period of three or five years. During the penalty period you will not be able to obtain a visa to visit Denmark.
