Elections in Bulgaria

After the party There Is Such A People overthrew the previous Petkov government by vote of no confidence, Bulgaria is going to elections for the fourth time in just two years.

Neither We Continue the Change, GERB or Bulgarian Socialist Party could form a majority in parliament with mandate given by President Rumen Radev. As a result, elections were announced, and they will take place on the 2nd of October 2022.

Until the elections, an interim government appointed by President Radev has taken over the governance of the country. Galeb Donev as the Prime Minister. The interim government’s most important tasks are preparing the elections, handling the energy crisis, drafting the missing legislation for the Recovery and Resilience plan and taking the last decisive steps towards Schengen membership.
